Our lives seem to be busier than ever, both at home and at work. Our minds constantly buzz with endless tasks, worries, and responsibilities. With these demands on our time and attention, we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and exhausted. How much of the time are you truly present?
With the practice of mindfulness, we can bring awareness, clarity, and calm to our lives. This course will introduce you to practices and meditation techniques that cultivate mindfulness in our daily life. We will explore the benefits of mindfulness for emotional, mental, and physical well-being and interpersonal relationships. This six-session course will support you in establishing your own continuing mindfulness meditation practice.
This course is offered in person at Unity of Eau Claire. This location has ample chairs, cushions, and mats. Please bring any supports needed to make sitting more comfortable.

Mindfulness Based Ethical Living (MBEL):
An 8-month Practice and Retreat Curriculum
Where: Online and Big Bear Retreat Center, California
Mindfulness Based Ethical Living (MBEL) is an organized, contemplative system carefully designed for anyone who seeks to care for their own and others’ lives, here in this world. MBEL is a practice curriculum that addresses the psychological, ethical, and philosophical dimensions of the human experience and has been developed for those who seek a more expansive understanding for their practice of mindfulness.
This course is facilitated by Dave Smith, Stephen Batchelor, Eileen Ybarra, and Ann Brand
The course will consist of online teachings and practice on Zoom as well as two-week long retreats onsite at Big Bear Retreat Center in California. The course begins January 2024 and runs through September 2024.

4-8 HOURS – Can be focused on mindfulness in education or the workplace. Includes an introduction to mindfulness practice with opportunity to experience different types of mindfulness practices and questions. Also includes opportunity for collaboration. Limited to 30 participants.
6 WEEK COURSE – Cultivating a Mindful Life: Six-Week Course in Mindfulness Practice. This course will introduce you to practices and meditation techniques that cultivate mindfulness in our daily life. We will explore the benefits of mindfulness for emotional, mental, and physical well-being and interpersonal relationships. This six-week course will support you in establishing your own continuing mindfulness meditation practice. Each session is two hours in length. Limited to 30 participants
